97. What Our Neighbors Need: Isi Ikharebha Green of the Physicians Care Connection

On episode 97 of Prognosis Ohio, Dan talks with Isi Ikharebha Green, president of Physicians CareConnection (PCC). In this far-ranging conversation, Green explains why “neighbor” is a better word than “patient” for an operation such as the PCC; describes how health and healthcare needs have changed during the pandemic for both PCC clients and those who work there; and emphasizes the critical importance of solving Central Ohio’s housing crisis.

For more information on Physicians CareConnection, visit the PCC website. In particular, check out the testimonials Dan mentions here. To find out how you can support the PCC, go here.

During the episode, Dan and Isi mention a fairly long list of PCC’s closest partners and affiliates, including the Human Service Chamber of Franklin County led by Executive Director Mike Corey (Twitter), Columbus Public Health, whose building the PCC operates out of, but also the Columbus Medical Association, The National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics, and The Community and Pathways Hub.

On the episode, as well, a few PCC partnerships were also highlighted, including the Franklin county board of commissioners, Ohio Better Birth Outcomes, Celebrate One, Healthcare Collaborative of Greater Columbus, and the Ohio Association of Community Health Centers

In the area of housing, specifically, Isi mentions United Way of Central Ohio’s efforts to help with housing in central Ohio.
